Born in Mexico City, Adriana Hernández Flores began her musical studies as an opera singer at the Opera singer at Escuela Superior de Música in her city, although her first encounters with the stage were already during her adolescence when she joined the “La Paradoja” Theater Workshop by director and theater teacher Ramiro García, with whom he focused mainly on realistic and existential theater.

At the end of her musical career in Mexico, she moved to Europe in the city of Vienna, where she carried out various projects as a singer, specializing in Operetta at the MUK – Private University of Vienna under the direction of professor and director Wolfgang Dosch. In 2013, she works in Switzerland under the direction of Peter Konwitschny whom she admires as a stage director of musical theater.

In 2015, she founded the Group “Divas Mexicanas” for which she wrote two opera-cabaret scripts “Historia de una Diva Mexicana” and “Vámonos pal norte” where she directs and is also part of the cast. In the second show “Vámonos pal Norte”, she also begins to experiment with multimedia elements which she uses as artistic reinforcement.

From 2017 till 2022, she did her studies in Musical Stage Direction (Musiktheaterregie) at the “MDW” Vienna University of Music and Performing Arts, under the tutelage of Reto Nickler, Michael Sturminger and Markus Kupferblum.

In 2019, she carried out professional internships at the “Theater an der Wien-Kammeroper” with Barbora Horakova-Joly, at the “Komische Oper Berlin” with Barrie Kosky and at the “Sommerspiele Perchtoldsdorf” with Michael Sturminger.

As assistant director, she worked at the “Salzburger Festspiele” in 2019 in the production “Orpheus from the underworld” directed by Barrie Kosky. In December 2019, she worked at the “Opera Ballet Vlaanderen”, in Belgium, in the production “Rusalka” under the direction of Alan Lucien Oyen. In summer 2021, she worked in “Tosca” at the Salzburger Festspiele, with Anna Netrebko. In summer 2022, Adriana went on tour with actor John Malkovic with the play “The Infernal Comedy” written and directed by Michael Sturminger.

In november 2022, she assists the German director Tobias Kratzer on the production of Rossini’s “La gazza ladra” at Theater an der Wien, in Vienna.

Her upcoming projects include directing Jedermann at the children’s Summer Opera Camp of the Salzburger Festspiele (for the second time), as well as participating as an assistant director to the new production of Jedermann on the big stage within the same Salzburger Festspiele, next to Michael Sturminger.
